Connect Research is a specialist clinical and health research agency offering qualitative and quantitative research services to life science research organisations and rare disease communities, including patient organisations.
To advance care and improve patient outcomes, we must understand the patient experience. This is why our mission is to ensure health research and therapy development is a reflection of the true patient experience. With decades of experience and a culture of compassion, collaboration and community empowerment, we are an organisation with the patient’s and community’s voice at heart.
We help clients by undertaking research studies to build a better understanding of the nature of disease, a fundamental basis for research into new therapies. We can better position rare disease communities to attract clinical trials by creating key research infrastructure such as patient registries, identifying valuable data sources and developing tools to measure patient outcomes and experience. We support clients to establish the evidence necessary for national reimbursement processes to help ensure patients have access to new therapies. We also help clients gain insights into the changing medical, psychosocial and financial needs of patients and families.
Our approach is grounded in robust scientific methodologies and is built on over 30 years collective academic and clinical research experience
For us, a collaborative approach is key. We recognise the deep knowledge and insights of our clients. We bring this together with our specialist expertise by working in partnership through all stages of the research process.
We can support a wide range of clinical and health research studies, including epidemiology and natural history studies and patient/caregiver reported investigations. Our team are equipped to deliver both quantitative and qualitative research services, allowing for scientifically robust and meaningful research outcomes.
Everything we do at Connect Research is rooted in scientific integrity, ensuring meaningful, high quality and ethical research delivered on time and on budget.
We seek to ensure the research we conduct together will have a direct impact on patient communities, improving health services and the lives of patients and their families.
I am passionate about improving patient outcomes through research. Since completing my PhD in Psychology in 2009 I have managed many large and complex multi-disciplinary, multi-site research studies, both experimental and observational, seeking to improve the health and well-being of patients, carers and communities globally. I have extensive experience in mixed methods research with particular specialism in qualitative research methods.
Over the last 17 years I have come to understand that patients and carers, with their lived experience, must play a central role if we are to produce research that has impactful health outcomes. Seeing the positive impact of parent and carer involvement within my work has fuelled my drive and passion for patient-centric research.
I am an epidemiologist with 14 years experience in health research. I have led national and global real-world research in cancer and rare-disease. I completed a PhD in Cancer Epidemiology in 2016 and have worked extensively in building and developing research resources to help patients and health service users tell their true experience. I have particular expertise in disease registries, patient reported outcomes and accessing and analysing large real-world databases.
Having worked at a senior management level in clinical and epidemiological research, I have increasingly seen the importance of a strong patient voice in all aspects of clinical research, I now advocate for the involvement of patients and citizen’s voices in designing and delivering research.
Research creates new possibilities so get in touch today, and let’s move towards a better world for patients, carers and communities.
The best health care requires a strong patient voice. With decades of experience and a culture of compassion, collaboration and community empowerment, we place the patient’s and community’s voice at the centre.
